Our Community Leadership Development Program encourages leadership and positive change within our communities by developing the leadership capabilities of individuals who care about the community, who understand its strengths and weaknesses, and who are willing to make a personal investment to improve the quality of life for Niagara’s citizens.
Founded in 2007, the Community Leadership Development Program is our flagship program. It takes emerging leaders from the public, private, and non-profit sectors and sets them up for success in leading self, leading others, and leading the community. From October to June participants learn about the most important issues facing our communities in Niagara, meet and learn from the community’s most dynamic leaders, and strengthen their leadership capacity through face-to-face learning and a team-based community action project.
All New Program for 2023-24! The Community Leadership Development Program looks different this year. The Learning Journey is divided into seven different areas that guide participants through an in-depth, experiential program that Inspires Leaders and Builds Community. You won’t want to miss this year’s program.
The Program Advisory Committee (PAC) is leading this journey and has created a Competency Framework DNA outlining the traits that make for a great leader. More information about this Framework is found in the Employer Handbook.
The Program runs from October 13, 2023, to June 7, 2024; with Learning Days being held in person and virtually. More information is found in the Participant Handbook.
