Welcome to our Board of Directors, Tara Stephens!
Leadership Niagara would like to give a hearty welcome to our newest board members!
Our Board of Directors (BOD) is our governing team of community leaders that guide and shape Leadership Niagara. Their dedication and guidance have made programs such as our Accelerate Civic Leadership+ program possible.
These amazing volunteers make LN the top leadership development program in Niagara and we would love for you to get to know them!
Today we welcome Tara Stephens, City Clerk with the City of Welland.
Welcome Tara Stephens
A Bit About Tara Stephens
Tara has been working for the City of Welland for over 14 years. During this time she has held multiple positions within the Clerk’s Division. Tara has been the City Clerk for over 5 years. As City Clerk, Tara is entrusted with the responsibility of recording the decisions which constitute the building blocks for the municipality. In addition, Tara is responsible for ensuring legislative processes are followed and oversight of protection of public records.
Tara has two diplomas from Niagara College being Office Administration (Executive) and Occupational Health and Safety. In addition, Tara has successfully completed multiple programs through the Association of Municipal Managers, Clerks and Treasurers of Ontario (AMCTO), which includes Municipal Finance, Administration, Law and Human Resources.
Residing in Welland with her husband and son, Tara is looking forward to becoming more involved in inspiring leadership, and working alongside successful individuals to create new innovative and imaginative approaches to civic leadership and learning in the Niagara Region.
