Bursaries, Scholarships & Grants
Leadership Niagara, in collaboration with our community partners, is honored to offer bursaries, scholarships, and grants to individuals aspiring to participate in our Community Leadership Development Program. Grant Applications open on June 15, 2024.
We thank all who apply but cannot guarantee approval. Approved applicants will be notified by October 1, 2024.

Leadership Niagara Diversity Scholarship
Thank you for your interest in the Leadership Niagara Diversity scholarship program. We have created these scholarships as a part of our commitment to strengthening the inclusivity, equitable access and diverse representation of participants within our programs. This scholarship is made available through the donations of Leadership Niagara Board Members both past and present. This year’s program will provide one (1) full scholarship to a selected applicant.
The recipients of the LN Diversity Scholarship will be required to demonstrate their strong interest and/or commitment to civic engagement and community development. The recipients will also demonstrate significant promise that the Community Leadership Development Program will be a catalyst to make Niagara a better place.
Eligibility Requirements
- Work for a non-profit or charity in Niagara
- Have demonstrated interest and/or commitment to volunteerism in the community
- Apply to be a participant in the 2024-25 Community Leadership Development Program
- Will consent to the publication of their name and image by Leadership Niagara, if selected
Niagara Community Foundation Scholarship
This scholarship has been created in support of Leadership Niagara’s commitment to strengthening the inclusivity, equitable access and diverse representation of participants within our programs. This scholarship is made available through the support of the Niagara Community Foundation. This year, Each award participant will receive $1575.00.
Eligibility Requirements
- Work for a charity in Niagara
- Have demonstrated interest and/or commitment to volunteerism in the community
- Apply to be a participant in the 2024-25 Community Leadership Development Program
- Will consent to the publication of their name and image by Leadership Niagara, if selected
Canada Ontario Job Grant
Up to 70% Funding – Restrictions Apply. Canada-Ontario Job Grant (COJG) provides opportunities for employers, individually or in groups, to invest in their workforce, with help from the government.
The Canada-Ontario Job Grant provides direct financial support to individual employers or employer consortia who wish to purchase training for their employees. It is available to small, medium and large businesses with a plan to deliver short-term training to existing and new employees. Employers that wish to apply for COJG funding must complete an online application here:

WIN (Women In Niagara) Bursary
This bursary has been created in support of Leadership Niagara’s commitment to strengthen the inclusivity, equitable access and diverse representation of participants within our programs.
This scholarship is made available through the support of the Greater Niagara Chamber of Commerce and is available for a woman in business who lives and works in Niagara.
This woman can be self-employed, work for a small business, a non-profit, or for an employer that would otherwise not pay for leadership development training.
Women in Niagara is looking for an enthusiastic, self-starter who envisions themselves giving back to and being a leader for Niagara. This bursary is for one (1) participant, full registration fee in the 2024-25 Community Leadership Development Program. Winner is chosen by the WIN subcommittee of the GNCC.
NEXTNiagara Scholarship
This scholarship has been created in support of Leadership Niagara’s commitment to strengthening the inclusivity, equitable access and diverse representation of participants within our programs. This scholarship is made available through the support of NEXTNiagara. The awarded participant will receive a full scholarship.
Eligibility Requirements
- Applicant must be 40 or under, working and/or living in Niagara
- Must have inclusive, equitable, and forward-thinking values
- Must be an advocate for positive change in Niagara
- Have demonstrated interest and/or commitment to volunteerism in the community
- Apply to be a participant in the 2024-25 Community Leadership Development Program
- Will consent to the publication of their name and image by Leadership Niagara, if selected
CiviConnect Youth Grant
Civiconnect focuses on two distinctive missions: to prepare the next generation of professionals for career excellence and to assist with bridging the gap between education and employment.
This grant has been created in support of Leadership Niagara’s commitment to strengthen empowering young people to become advocates for positive change in our community by encouraging them to engage in service projects, volunteer work and leadership opportunities. The awardee will receive $1400 towards the program tuition.
Eligibility Requirements
- Working in Niagara and under 30 years of age
- Have a strong commitment to achieving excellence in your chosen career
- Have an interest in furthering your education in leadership skills
- Apply to be a participant in the 2024-25 Community Leadership Development Program
