How do you define civic leadership?

Civic Leadership is standing up for the greater good. To do well by doing good.

Why are you personally motivated to explore civic leadership?

Everyone has the capacity to be a changemaker. Big or small, each individual, varied perspective, experience, relationship, and different idea help to shape your world view. I want to explore my capacity to become a changemaker by pushing myself beyond my comfort zone, expanding my perspectives, and connecting with other individuals who want to create a better tomorrow for our community. Additionally, I want to show my 7-year-old son that the world can be changed, one dedicated person at a time.

In your view, what’s the most important attribute of a leader?

The desire to understand. Be it individuals, processes, or thoughts. A true leader seeks out the information and considers all sides and opinions in order to make informed decisions.
