DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM
Program Details
Our flagship program is scheduled to run one Friday a month from October 2024 through June 2025. Through diverse formats, they will engage with and learn from current community leaders across Niagara, alongside expert researchers, consultants, and thought leaders. Participants will gain insights into Niagara’s current challenges and witness collaborative efforts aimed at supporting those in need.
Central to the program is the selection and support of a community-based group addressing a pertinent organizational challenge. Through this hands-on project, participants will enhance their community acumen, transferring skills across contexts.
Diverse in background and leadership experience, participants share a passion for learning, a dedication to community betterment, and a collaborative ethos.
Acceptance into the program requires adherence to specific commitments:
- Full-day attendance at the kick-off breakfast is mandatory.
- Participation in all Learning Days - required to graduate, situations do exist and extenuating circumstances will be evaluated on a one-on-one basis.
- Engagement in project work, approximately five hours per month, subject to variation based on individual and team needs.
- Attendance at the Graduation Event in June.

Opening Retreat
This immersive experience provides a deep dive into professional and community leadership concepts, acquainting participants with Niagara’s issues and fostering networking opportunities.

Community Projects
Team projects are selected from initiatives identified as necessary by local service agencies and organizations. They provide opportunities to utilize individual leadership skills, creativity, group dynamics and philanthropy to create visible and tangible outcomes.
Closing and Graduation | June 2025
The final day allows you to synthesize the knowledge, skills, attitudes, activities, and experiences you have been exposed to over the program. As a result, you will graduate ready and empowered to assume an active role in your community, business, and personal life as a Leadership Niagara Alumni.
